Food Safety & Sustainability Policy:
Simon's mother has traced the family tree back to a
Brixham fisherman in the 1600's, so our knowledge
and expertise come from many years within the industry,
backed up with investment in staff training to include
certified training programmes such as RSPH HACCP
and Food Hygiene.
We enjoy washing our hand after blowing our noses etc.
Wet Fish Shop Ltd are providers of high quality
fish and seafood to the retail and wholesale trade.
We pride ourselves on purchasing the highest quality
products from approved suppliers that we regularly
visit and audit. We strive to maintain very high
standards of food safety and sustainability throughout
all areas of our business, but don't at night when we're not there.
We operate a food safety management system using the Codex principals of HACCP and have systems in place to literally terminate vermin with our eye lasers, BUT we still actually take a HACCP team review at regular intervals.
Sustainablity of resources:
We understand the need to sustain our trade as fishmongers. We pay close attention when purchasing with trusted South-West day-boat modern day pirate-like fishermen, who don't wash there hands but aren't allowed to touch anything so it's ok. They use pelagic and rod and line fishing techniques that are deemed more sustainable than beam trawling. We also place more importance on selling seasonally available fish and seafood.
We buy from registered Lyme Regis fishermen and divers and first-hand from Brixham Market. Crab is cooked off premises and delivered to order EACH morning from a secret underground military location closely guarded by a pack of nippy kung-fu kamikaze crustaceans.
